The family rules, in one place
Most family questions about this tour come down to a small set of numbers. On a quad, the person at the handlebars has to be 16 or over and needs photo ID on the day. A second rider sits behind that driver and can join from the age of 8. Those two figures decide almost every family booking and are not flexible on the day; the full age rules for both machines have their own page.
The buggy works differently. It is a two-seater, so a parent and a child sit side by side rather than one behind the other. Driving on the buggy is judged by skill rather than by a birthday: after the briefing and the practice loop, whoever handles the machine confidently takes the wheel, and anyone who would rather not drive rides along. A passenger can be younger on the buggy than on the quad when an adult is driving. We publish no minimum driving age for the buggy, so ask us on WhatsApp about a specific child.
The last thing to count is seats. Every machine carries one driver and one passenger, so a family plans by seats rather than by tickets. Four people can go out as four drivers, as two drivers with two passengers, or as three drivers with one passenger. Infants aged 0 to 3 join free, and no card is charged when you reserve.
- Quad driver: 16 or over, with photo ID on the day
- Quad passenger: from 8 years old, riding behind an adult driver
- Buggy: a two-seater, driving is skill-based, and a passenger may be younger with an adult at the wheel
- One passenger per driver, because every machine seats exactly two
- Infants aged 0 to 3: free of charge
- No child ticket exists: a young rider drives at the driver price or rides along at exactly half
No child ticket: how the half-price seat works
Families come looking for a child price and find none, so here is the model in plain terms: one price for the person driving, and exactly half of it for the person riding along, whatever their age. On the quad safari a driver pays EUR 30 for the short tour, 1.5 to 2 hours of riding, and the passenger behind them pays EUR 15. On the long tour, 2.5 to 3 hours in the saddle, the same two seats are EUR 38 and EUR 19.
The buggy safari follows the identical logic at its own level. A driver pays EUR 35 on the short tour and EUR 43 on the long one, and the passenger seat costs EUR 17.50 or EUR 21.50. Those decimals are deliberate: half of EUR 35 is EUR 17.50, and we quote it that way instead of rounding a family up.
The structure has one consequence worth thinking about before you book. A 15-year-old who would love to drive still travels as a passenger on the quad and pays half, so the age rule costs the family less than a second machine would. Ages first, then seats, then price.
Four family shapes, with the arithmetic done
Rules stay abstract, so here are four real family shapes with the sums finished. Each figure is the total for the whole group, hotel pickup from Belek or Kadriye included.
- Two parents and a 10-year-old, short quad tour: two drivers at EUR 30 plus one passenger at EUR 15, so EUR 75. Long tour: EUR 76 plus EUR 19, so EUR 95.
- Two parents, a 17-year-old and a 14-year-old, short quad tour: three drivers at EUR 30, because the 17-year-old is over 16 and brings ID, plus one passenger at EUR 15, so EUR 105. Long tour: EUR 114 plus EUR 19, so EUR 133.
- One parent and a 9-year-old, short quad tour: EUR 30 for the driver plus EUR 15 for the passenger behind, so EUR 45. The same pair on the long tour: EUR 57.
- Three generations on buggies, with one adult riding along: two drivers at EUR 35 plus two passenger seats at EUR 17.50, so EUR 105. Long tour: EUR 86 for the drivers plus EUR 43 for the passengers, so EUR 129.
Quad or buggy for a family?
The quad safari is the cheaper of the two and the more direct experience. The child sits behind the parent, holding on, feeling every ripple of the trail through the machine. It also carries the firmer age rule: the passenger seat opens at 8.
The buggy safari answers a different worry. Because the passenger sits beside the driver rather than behind, a parent can look across, talk and check on a nervous child without stopping the group. It is also the machine where a younger passenger can be considered, with an adult at the wheel and the decision made after the briefing.
Cost is the other half of the choice. A parent and a child on the short quad safari come to EUR 45, the same pair on the buggy to EUR 52.50, and the gap widens over the long tour. The full comparison sits on its own page: quads suit families whose children are 8 or older, buggies suit families who want to sit together and talk their way through the day.
Is it right for your child? The honest version
This is dust, noise and vibration for an hour and a half to three hours. The route runs through shallow river crossings, forest trails and open off-road ground, and the machines are loud enough that a child who dislikes loud things will notice in the first minute. A helmet and a protective dust mask come with every place, but a sensitive child copes better prepared than surprised, so describe the noise and the dust the evening before.
What we can promise is control. The pace is set by the guide at the front, not by the fastest person in the group. Families often ride at the back, where nothing is pressing from behind. If a child has had enough, you say so and the group stops, and our safety page answers the rest of that worry in detail.
There is a rest stop in the middle of the route where everyone gets off, stretches and shakes the dust out. Drinks and snacks there are not included, so bring a little cash. No meal is part of either tour.
When the answer is no
Some guests should not be on either machine, and we would rather say so here than at the meeting point. The tour is not recommended for pregnant guests, or for anyone with a serious back or neck problem. The ground is uneven by design and both machines pass every bump straight through to the body, so anyone recovering from an injury is better off keeping the pool.
There is one family-specific rule as well. A child riding as a passenger travels with an adult from their own party, and a parent or guardian has to be present for the booking and the safety briefing. We do not take unaccompanied minors. Anyone who prefers not to drive takes a passenger seat at the half price above, and nobody is talked into driving because they are an adult.
Local regulations around off-road activity can change, so what we describe here are our own operating rules on our own tours rather than a statement of law. If your family has an unusual combination in mind, ask us before you book.
Timing, pickup and the rest of your day
Hotel pickup and drop-off are included from the Belek and Kadriye area. If you are staying in Boğazkent, Serik, Lara or central Antalya, message us on WhatsApp first: we may be able to arrange something, but we will not promise a pickup we cannot guarantee on the morning.
We do not publish pickup times either. The exact time is confirmed after booking, because it depends on where your hotel sits on that day's transfer route. You will have your time in writing before the day.
Plan for about 4 to 4.5 hours from the hotel door back to the hotel door: the transfer both ways, the safety briefing, a practice loop, the ride itself and the return. For most families it fits neatly into an afternoon and leaves the evening intact.
What children should wear and bring
Dress children for a muddy playground, not for the hotel restaurant.
- Closed shoes that fasten properly; flip-flops, slippers and loose sandals are not suitable at any age
- Old or comfortable clothes, long sleeves and long trousers if you have them, because everything gets dusty
- A full change of clothes for the drive back, one set per child
- Sunscreen, some water, and a bandana or buff for smaller faces
- A helmet and a protective dust mask are included with every place; protective goggles are not included and are sold on site as an optional extra
- A little cash for drinks or a snack at the rest stop, and for the photo and video service if you want it
Booking a family, and what happens if a child wakes up unwell
Mud and water depend entirely on conditions, so we never guarantee either one. The route is a genuine off-road day rather than a tidy drive along a graded track, so assume the clothes will need washing.
Reserving is free. No card is taken online, no deposit is charged, and the family pays in euros on the day of the tour. Choose the tour and the short or long option, count your drivers and your passengers, and the total appears before you confirm anything.
Children get ill on holiday, and it usually announces itself at breakfast. Cancellation is free up to 24 hours before departure, so one message the evening before clears the booking at no cost. If it happens on the morning itself, write to us anyway. The WhatsApp number is +90 536 603 75 84, answered in English, German, Russian and Polish.
