Lara is a beach district — the riding is out at Aspendos
Lara is Antalya's eastern beach district: a long line of very large resort hotels behind a wide public beach, built for guests who come for the sea rather than for the countryside. What that stretch does not give you is off-road terrain. The district is hotels, sand and boulevards, while the river beds, forest tracks and open ground a quad actually needs begin inland, away from the shore. So riding from Lara always means travelling out to a base — which is exactly why the transfer from Lara is included in our price rather than treated as an extra you have to arrange.
Ours is in the Aspendos area, well inland from the coast, on the natural land that follows the Köprüçay — the river the ancients called the Eurymedon — as it comes down from the foot of the Taurus Mountains. It is a private off-road course rather than a public road: shallow river sections, dusty forest tracks, off-road trails and open terrain, with mud when conditions allow. You do not ride there from Lara. You are collected from your hotel, driven out, briefed, given a machine and sent onto the course with a guide — and that round trip is part of the tour price, not a separate quote.
The transfer from Lara is included in the price
Round-trip hotel pickup and drop-off from Lara is included. That is the whole answer: the transfer out to the base and the run back to your hotel afterwards are part of the tour price, there is no pickup surcharge to add and there is nothing to negotiate. The same holds right along the coast — Belek and Kadriye, Boğazkent, Kundu, Antalya, Muratpaşa and Konyaaltı, and eastwards through Side, Manavgat, Evrenseki, Kumköy, Çolaklı, Gündoğdu and Kızılot.
What we still will not publish is your own hotel's clock time; the Lara average below is as far as a page can honestly go. Departures are organised hotel by hotel and depend on the day's transfer schedule, so your time is confirmed to you after you book rather than guessed at on this page. Pickup times from Lara: two sessions a day
We run two departures a day and Lara is on both of them. On average we collect from hotels in Lara at around 08:30 for the morning session and around 13:30 for the afternoon one. Those figures are averages rather than a promise to the minute — the vehicle works its way along the coast, so traffic and the length of the run move everybody's time a little.
Your own time is confirmed after you book, once we know which hotel to come to. If you are choosing between the two: the morning session has you back for a late lunch, and the afternoon one leaves the whole morning free for the beach.
What the day looks like from a Lara hotel
Plan on roughly four to four and a half hours door to door. That covers the transfer out, the briefing, the test ride, the riding itself and the journey back. Exact timings shift with your hotel's position and the day's transfer schedule, so beyond the area average above we do not publish a departure clock time for an individual hotel — you are given yours when the pickup is confirmed.
The sequence is the same for everyone. You are collected from your hotel and driven out to the base in the Aspendos area, beside the Köprüçay. There you meet the guide, listen to the safety briefing and are handed a helmet. Then comes the compulsory test ride, which is where it is decided who takes the wheel. After that the group heads onto the course: shallow river sections, forest tracks under the pines, open ground where you can stretch the machine a little, dust in the air the whole way, and mud when the ground has enough water in it. There is a rest stop partway, where drinks and snacks are on sale, and then the ride back to the base and the return transfer.
Because it is a half day rather than a full one, most of your day in Lara survives intact. You get back with the beach, the hotel and the evening still ahead of you.
Two machines, four prices
There are two machines and two lengths, so four prices. The short tour is one and a half to two hours of actual riding; the long tour is two and a half to three. Both sit inside the same four to four and a half hour programme, because the extra riding time is exactly what the higher price buys.
These figures are the full tour prices — the machine, the fuel, the guide, the equipment, the round-trip transfer from your Lara hotel and the programme itself. Nothing is added on top for the pickup. What there is not is a child tier or a free seat: the price is per person taking part, so a driver pays the driver price and anyone riding along pays half, whatever their age. A family of four leaving a Lara hotel is four fares — two drivers and two passengers, say — not two.

- Passenger riding along instead of driving — exactly half: €15, €19, €17.50 and €21.50 in the same order
- Everyone who comes on the transfer and joins the safari is charged, at the driver price or the passenger half — there is no free seat
Who can drive, and can two of you share a machine?
No driving licence is required, and the reason matters: the route is a private off-road course, not a public road, so it is not judged like road driving. Drivers must be 16 or over and should carry ID — the ID is an age check and nothing more. Sixteen and seventeen year olds drive their own machine.
Every driver then takes a compulsory test ride before the tour starts. It is a short supervised run at the base and it is not a formality: whoever completes it successfully drives, and whoever does not, or simply decides they would rather not, rides along as a passenger at half price instead. Nobody is pushed onto a machine they are uneasy about, and nobody loses their place in the group either way.
That half-price seat is also what makes booking as a pair from Lara cheaper than paying two full fares. Both machines seat two, so there is one passenger per driver: the buggy is a proper two-seater with your passenger beside you, and on a quad the passenger sits behind. A couple taking the short buggy tour together pays €35 plus €17.50 rather than two full fares.
There is no age floor on the passenger seat, but there is a limit to what a small child can hold on to: we do not recommend the tour for children under 4, because staying held on safely for the whole run is hard for them on ground like this. Older children ride as passengers at the half fare like anybody else — the fare is for taking part, not for a birthday. The tour is also not recommended for pregnant guests or for anyone with back or neck problems, because the ground is rough by design.

Practical notes before you book
What the price does not cover is short and worth reading. Protective goggles are an optional extra sold on site, and we do not publish a figure for them here because the price is set at the base. Photo and video services are extra. Drinks and snacks at the rest stop are paid for there. Tips are yours to decide. If you want a machine entirely to yourself instead of sharing it, there is a single-machine supplement — ask us for the current amount rather than assuming one from this page.
Nothing about the preparation is complicated, but the wrong shoes can spoil an otherwise good morning.
