The five formats you can actually book from a Belek hotel
The honest disclosure first: we are an off-road operator. The quad safari and the buggy safari are ours, the other three are not, and a page like this written by a seller is worth exactly as much as the criteria it uses. So every line below is something you can check against any operator's page, ours included, and the three formats we do not sell are described by what they genuinely do better rather than by what they lack.
Here is the field, with the thing each one actually wins at:
- Quad safari — the most direct version of driving something yourself. One machine, one driver, your own throttle, and more control per euro than anything else here. A quad (ATV) is also the format that asks most of your arms.
- Buggy safari — the same ground with a steering wheel, pedals and two seats side by side. Better than the quad when two of you want to share the day looking at each other rather than at the back of a helmet.
- Jeep safari — the format with no gate on it. Nobody drives, nobody is tested, and a group with small children or grandparents can all get in. It buys scenery and comfort instead of control, which for many families is the right trade.
- Rafting — water instead of dust, a paddle instead of a throttle, and a guide steering from the back. It is the coolest of the five on a hot afternoon and the one where a group works as a crew rather than as a convoy of individuals.
- A boat day — the slowest, the least demanding and the only one where doing nothing is the whole idea. For a wide range of ages and a swim, nothing on this list competes with it.
One question settles most of it: do you want to drive?
Every other difference follows from that one. On our quad and buggy safari you operate the machine yourself. No driving licence is required, because the route is a private off-road course rather than a public road, and drivers must be 16 or over. Every driver then takes a compulsory test ride at the base before the tour starts, and passing it is what allows you to drive — it is not a formality, and it is the reason nobody is committed to the wheel merely by having paid.
On a jeep safari, in a raft or on a boat, somebody else is responsible for the vehicle. That is not a lesser day out, it is a different purchase: it removes the age limit, the test ride and the concentration, and it also removes the thing that makes people book a quad in the first place. There is a middle option people overlook. On our tours the person who does not want to drive rides along with a driver and pays exactly half, so a mixed pair never has to choose a format by its most reluctant member. Which of our two machines suits you is a separate question, and we answer it properly on the quad versus buggy page.
Effort, dust and water, compared without flattery
The five split cleanly on five measures: how hard your body works, how dirty you finish, whether you finish wet, who is in charge of the vehicle, and how much of the holiday day it eats.
- Effort — quad and buggy are the most physical, with one and a half to two hours of riding on the short tour and two and a half to three on the long one, all of it demanding arms, shoulders and attention. Rafting is physical in a different way and shares the load across the boat. A jeep safari and a boat day ask almost nothing of you.
- Dust — certain on the quad and the buggy. You come back dirty, which is why old clothes and closed shoes are the standing advice rather than a warning. A jeep raises dust too, but you sit behind a windscreen. A raft and a boat raise none.
- Water — rafting and a boat day are the wet ones by definition. Our route crosses shallow river sections, but splashes and mud follow the recent weather, so we never promise them for a particular day.
- Control — the whole reason the quad and the buggy exist. On the other three you are carried, competently and comfortably, but carried.
- Time — our programme runs about four to four and a half hours door to door, morning session or afternoon session, which leaves most of the day at the hotel. We publish no timings for the three formats we do not run.
- Who can join — this is where the off-road day is strictest and the boat is loosest, and it decides more family bookings than price does.
Which format fits the group you are travelling with
A couple, or adults travelling together: the off-road day, and the half fare is what makes it inexpensive. One person drives at the driver price and the other rides along at exactly half — €15 or €19 beside a quad, €17.50 or €21.50 beside a buggy. Both machines seat a driver and one other person, one passenger per driver.
A family with teenagers: still the off-road day. Sixteen and seventeen year olds drive their own machine at the full driver price, younger ones come along in the passenger seat, and the buggy's side-by-side seat is the easier one for a passenger who is nervous. A family with very young children, or a group where somebody genuinely cannot take part: this is where a jeep safari or a boat day is the better booking, and we would rather say so here than at the base. There is no minimum age for our passenger seat, but we do not recommend the tour for children under four, because a small child can find it hard to hold on safely on a moving machine. A jeep has none of that problem, and a boat has less of it still.
Anyone pregnant, or with back or neck trouble: not the off-road day at all. The ground is rough by design, that roughness is what you are paying for, and no briefing softens it.
Price: ours in full, theirs not at all
We publish four prices and no others. A quad is €30 per driver on the short tour and €38 on the long one; a buggy is €35 and €43. Whoever rides along instead of driving pays exactly half, so two people sharing one quad on the short tour pay €45 together. Round-trip hotel transfer is inside every one of those figures — from Belek and Kadriye, Boğazkent, Lara, Kundu, Antalya, Muratpaşa and Konyaaltı, and eastwards along the coast through Side, Manavgat, Evrenseki, Kumköy, Çolaklı, Gündoğdu and Kızılot, fifteen resort areas in all with no pickup surcharge on any of them.
For the jeep safari, the rafting and the boat day we quote nothing at all, because we do not set those prices and an invented number would be worse than silence. When you do compare offers, check one thing on each of them: whether the hotel transfer is inside the price or added to it afterwards. An excursion that looks cheaper on the shelf is not cheaper if the pickup is billed on top, and that single line explains most of the price gaps you will see advertised in a hotel lobby.
What is included on our side is short and exact: the transfer both ways, an instructor and the briefing, insurance, the machine with its fuel, and a helmet. A dust mask, goggles and a bandana are not included — goggles are sold at the base, and a bandana is yours to bring if you want cloth over your face. How long the day takes, and where the riding actually happens
Ours is a half day rather than a whole one: about four to four and a half hours from pickup to drop-off, with one and a half to two hours of riding on the short tour and two and a half to three hours on the long one. There are two sessions a day, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, so whichever you take, the beach still gets the larger part of your day.
The riding does not happen at the resort itself. The course sits in the Aspendos area, on the natural land along the Köprüçay river, where river sections, forest tracks and open off-road terrain come together at the foot of the Taurus Mountains. The town is where we collect you and the market this page is written for; it is not the ground you ride on.
From a Belek hotel the drive out to the start is around 35–40 minutes, and it depends on your pickup point rather than being a promise fixed in advance. No other pickup area has a measured drive time, so this page prints none for them.
Your own collection time is confirmed with you after booking rather than guessed at here, because it moves with your hotel and with the day's schedule. Safety, ages and who is genuinely able to take part
Every tour opens with a safety briefing and the compulsory test ride, an instructor rides with the group, and liability insurance covers the activity. The helmet is the one piece of protective kit that comes with the ride.
Drivers are 16 or over and should carry ID. No driving licence is needed, because this is a private off-road course rather than a public road — that is a statement about our own course and nothing more, and the test ride, not a document, is what decides who takes the wheel.
There is one passenger seat per driver on both machines, there is no minimum age for that seat, and nobody rides along without paying. Everyone who joins the transfer and the safari pays: driver or passenger, adult or child, including a guest who comes only to watch. The half fare is the single reduction we have. We do not recommend the tour for children under four, because a small child can find it hard to hold on safely on a moving machine, and we do not recommend it for pregnant guests or for anyone with back or neck problems.

Booking ours, and where to look for the other three
Booking online creates a real reservation and costs nothing to hold: no card details are taken, nothing is charged in advance, and you pay in euros on the day of the tour. It is not an instant confirmation — your booking reaches us as pending and a person then confirms the pickup arrangement with you, which is slower than a machine and considerably more accurate. Cancellation is free up to 24 hours before departure, so an early booking commits your date and not your money.
For the three formats we do not run, we would rather point you somewhere than pretend. One last line, because this is a ranking page and ranking pages are usually bought. There are no reviews, no star rating, no award and no guest count on this site, and none will be invented to fill the gap. What is here instead is checkable: four prices, the half fare, the riding times, the length of the programme, the included transfer, the age rules and the reason behind the driving rule.
