Who it fits from a Kumköy hotel, and who should stay by the pool
What you are buying from a Kumköy base is time at the wheel, with a vehicle to the base and back at either end. On the short tour that is one and a half to two hours of riding; on the long one, two and a half to three. Everything else in the programme exists to get you onto a machine and return you to your hotel afterwards. If what you actually want from the day is a view, a swim and somebody else doing the driving, this is the wrong excursion, and we would rather say that here than take the booking and disappoint you at the base.
It works unusually well for two people travelling together, because each machine seats a driver and one other person, and the second person is not charged a second full fare. One of you drives and pays the driver price; the other rides along for exactly half of it. That holds on both machines and on both ride lengths, which is why a couple, or a parent with a teenager, adds up differently here than two separate tickets would anywhere.

The four prices, and what the second person costs
Prices are per driver, in euros, and they are the same from Kumköy as from anywhere else we collect, because the transfer is not a line that gets added at the end. A quad is €30 for the short tour and €38 for the long one. A buggy is €35 short and €43 long. The person riding along pays half the driver price — €15 or €19 beside a quad driver, €17.50 or €21.50 in a buggy — and we do not round those halves up.
Three worked examples, since the halves are where the confusion usually starts. Two of you sharing one buggy on the short tour: €35 for the driver, €17.50 for the passenger, €52.50 in all. Two of you who each want your own quad on the long tour: €38 twice, so €76. A parent driving a quad on the short tour with a ten-year-old riding along: €30 and €15, so €45. The transfer from Kumköy is inside every one of those totals, and you pay on the day of the tour rather than online.

Two departures a day, and how much of your holiday it takes
The safari runs twice a day, a morning session and an afternoon one, so a booking from Kumköy costs you half a day rather than the whole of it. Door to door — collection, the run out, the briefing and test ride, the riding, the stop partway, the return — the programme takes about four to four and a half hours, and its exact shape moves with your hotel and with that day's transfer schedule.
Which session to take is mostly a question about the rest of your day, not about the ride. The morning one returns you with the afternoon still ahead of you; the afternoon one leaves the beach morning intact and sends you out later in the day. What genuinely changes the experience is the length you choose. The short tour is the cheaper way to find out whether you enjoy this at all; the long tour is for people who already know they do and want roughly an hour more at the wheel for €8.
Where you actually ride: inland at Aspendos, on the Köprüçay
This matters more from Kumköy than from almost anywhere else on our pickup list, so here it is without decoration. The riding does not happen at your resort, on the beach, or anywhere along the shore you can walk to. It happens inland, in the Aspendos area, on the natural land that follows the Köprüçay — the river the ancient world knew as the Eurymedon. The transfer takes you west along the coast, away from the sea, and then in towards that country. The tour is sold under a Belek name because Belek is the pickup belt it grew out of; the course itself has always been at Aspendos.
What is under the wheels there is a mixture rather than one surface: shallow river sections, forest tracks, dirt and open off-road ground, with dust as the only constant. Mud is a different matter and we will not promise it. How wet or how muddy your particular afternoon turns out depends on conditions on the day, and somebody else's brown photograph is not a commitment we can make on your behalf.
There is one thing we will not tell you, and it is deliberate. Nobody has measured the drive from Kumköy to the base, so this page leaves a blank where a plausible number would sit. Inventing one would be easy, and you would hold us to it at the hotel door. What we can say is that it is included in the price, and that you come back the same way.
What happens from the moment the vehicle arrives
You are collected at your hotel entrance and driven out to the base. There you meet the guide, hear the safety briefing, and are handed a helmet. Then comes the compulsory test ride: a short supervised run that settles who takes the wheel for the rest of the day. It is not a formality, and it is not the same thing as everybody passing it.
After that, the group goes out onto the course for the ride length you booked, with a rest stop partway where drinks and snacks are on sale and paid for there. Then it is back to the base, back into the vehicle, and back to Kumköy. You will return dusty; that is the normal outcome, not a bad day. It is also why the clothing advice further down this page is worth reading before you pack the bag you take.
Who is allowed to drive, and how that gets decided
No driving licence is required for this safari, and the reason travels with the claim rather than being left as a slogan: the route is a private off-road course, not a public road, so it is not judged the way road driving is. Drivers must be 16 or over. Every driver then takes the compulsory test ride at the base, and passing it is what allows you to drive — nothing else does.
If somebody does not pass, or takes one look at the machine and decides against it, nothing is wasted: they ride along as a passenger at half the driver price and do the whole tour anyway. Passengers are welcome from eight years old, one passenger per machine, seated beside a driver aged 16 or over. So the honest answer to the question families in Kumköy ask us most is that a ten-year-old can absolutely come — in the seat beside a parent, not at the wheel.
Two more things belong here rather than in the small print. The tour is not recommended for pregnant guests or for anyone with back or neck problems, because the ground is rough by design. And a helmet and liability insurance for the activity are part of the price, which is the concrete version of a safety promise rather than the reassuring version.
Your pickup from Kumköy: included, and given to you by a person
Round-trip hotel pickup and drop-off is included in the price from fifteen areas of this coast, and Kumköy is one of them. There is no surcharge, no distance supplement and no separate transfer to buy: the driver price you see is the price for the whole thing, collection included.
What this page cannot give you is the time. Average pickup times are recorded for six resort areas further west along the coast, and Kumköy is not among them, so printing one here would mean making it up. Instead you choose your session when you book — morning or afternoon — and your actual pickup is confirmed with you afterwards, by a person, for your hotel. Guests along the same stretch, in Evrenseki, Çolaklı, Gündoğdu, Kızılot, Side or Manavgat, are collected on exactly the same included terms.

What comes with the ride, what you buy at the base, and what to wear
Included in the price: the round-trip transfer from Kumköy, the guide and the safety briefing, liability insurance for the activity, the machine with its fuel, and a helmet. That helmet is the only piece of protective kit that comes with the tour, and being exact about it matters, because the opposite is what everybody assumes.
Not included: a dust mask, protective goggles and a bandana. Goggles are sold at the base if you want more than the helmet gives you, and we quote no figure because the price is set there. For the mask and the bandana we have no record of either being on sale at all, so treat them as things to bring rather than things to buy — a bandana out of your own bag is a sensible thing to pack for a dusty afternoon.
Wear old clothes you genuinely do not mind ruining, and proper closed shoes: flip-flops and slippers are not recommended for this. Bring sunglasses, sunscreen and a change of clothes for the way back to Kumköy. Drinks and snacks at the rest stop, photo and video services, and tips for the crew all sit outside the price and are paid on the day if you want them.
