Things to Do in Belek Besides Golf, for Everyone Who Did Not Come for the Fairway

Belek is organised around golf, so the non-golf day divides into three honest categories: the strip itself — beach, pine woods, the hotel's own pools and evenings; the region inland, with its ancient sites, mountains and weekly markets; and one active half day you drive yourself, which is the only one on this page we actually run. Ours is a quad safari at €30 per driver on the short tour and €38 on the long one, or a buggy at €35 and €43, with anyone riding along instead of driving paying exactly half — €15, €19, €17.50 or €21.50. Round-trip hotel transfer is included in those prices from fifteen resort areas, there are two departures a day, and the whole thing runs about four to four and a half hours door to door, which is why it fits a rest day between rounds or a morning while somebody else is on the course. The riding happens inland in the Aspendos area, on the natural ground along the Köprüçay river, not on the resort strip. You reserve free of charge, no card is taken, and you pay in euros on the day.

Who actually asks this question in Belek

Three different people type it, and they want slightly different answers. The first came with a golfer and does not play — a whole morning free, every morning, and only so many mornings a sunbed can absorb. The second plays, but not today: a rest day between rounds, and the last thing they want is to look at the course from the terrace. The third booked Belek because the hotel was good and worked out afterwards that the town is built around a sport they have no interest in.

What all three have in common is a fixed block of free time and, usually, no car. So the useful filter is not what is the best thing in Belek — it is what fits half a day, what includes the transport, and what can be cancelled if the plan changes. That is the filter this page uses. By that filter our own tour comes out well, which we would rather admit at the top than pretend to be neutral about further down.

  • The partner who does not play and has the whole morning while somebody else is on the course
  • A golfer on a rest day between rounds who wants a different kind of tired
  • Anyone who booked Belek for the hotel and the beach and finds the golf beside the point
  • Families whose children are far too young to care about a round of anything
  • Guests with no hire car — which is most of them: if an activity does not include transport, it barely exists

The one thing on this page we run ourselves

Everything further down is orientation written by an off-road operator, not by a tourist board. This section is the exception. The quad safari and the buggy safari are ours, so here the page stops describing and starts quoting numbers you can hold us to.

Each machine comes as a short tour or a long tour, and the difference between them is riding time rather than a better route. The price is per driver. Whoever comes along instead of driving pays exactly half, and that half fare is the only reduction we have: there is no child rate, and nobody joins free — not a small child, and not a guest who only comes to watch and takes a seat on the transfer.

  • Quad, short tour: 1.5 to 2 hours of riding, €30 per driver
  • Quad, long tour: 2.5 to 3 hours of riding, €38 per driver
  • Buggy, short tour: 1.5 to 2 hours of riding, €35 per driver
  • Buggy, long tour: 2.5 to 3 hours of riding, €43 per driver
  • Riding along instead of driving: €15 or €19 on a quad, €17.50 or €21.50 in a buggy
  • So a golfer and a non-playing partner sharing one quad on the short tour pay €45 in total, transfer included; on the short buggy tour €52.50
  • One passenger per driver — both machines seat a driver and one other person, and no more

Half a day, which is the entire point

Door to door the programme runs about four to four and a half hours, and that figure already contains the pickup, the drive out, the briefing, the compulsory test ride, the riding itself and the journey back. It is deliberately not a full-day excursion. A morning tour has you back for a late lunch; an afternoon tour leaves the whole morning alone.

There are two departures a day, and the pickup times are averages for a resort area rather than a promise for your hotel. From Belek hotels the run comes through at roughly 09:20 for the morning session and at 14:20 for the afternoon one, both Belek averages. In Kadriye the collection is a little earlier, on average around 09:00 and 14:00. Your own time is confirmed to you after booking, because it depends on the day's route. From a Belek hotel the drive out to the riding area takes approximately 35 to 40 minutes depending on exactly where you are collected, and we publish no figure at all for the other resorts, because none of them has been measured.

That shape is what makes the tour survivable inside a golf week. If your partner has an early tee time, the morning session takes you out and returns you inside roughly the same window. If you are the one playing and want an afternoon that is not another beach, the second session exists for exactly that. Which of the two suits you better is a question we answer at proper length on its own page, and the full timing breakdown has one too.

Where the safari actually happens, since the name misleads

Worth saying plainly, because the name of this website suggests otherwise: the riding does not take place on the Belek strip. Belek is where we collect you and the market we sell into. The course itself is inland in the Aspendos area, on the natural land along the Köprüçay river — the Eurymedon of the classical maps — and that is a completely different sort of country from the manicured ground you are staying on.

What is under the wheels keeps changing: dirt tracks, forest, open terrain and shallow river ground in one route. Dust is certain, and you will come back dirty enough that old clothes and closed shoes are an instruction rather than a suggestion. Mud is not certain — the ground carries water at some times and not at others, so we say when conditions allow rather than promise the photograph we cannot control. If you want the longer version of the terrain and the Taurus foothills standing behind it, we wrote that up as its own page.

Can somebody who has never driven one actually do it?

Yes, and the arrangement is built for exactly that person. No driving licence is required, because the route is a private off-road course rather than a public road, so it is not judged like driving on the road at all. Drivers must be 16 or over and should carry ID, which evidences the age and nothing else.

Every driver then takes a compulsory test ride at the base before the tour starts. It is a short supervised run and it is not a formality — passing it is what allows you to drive. Anyone who does not pass, or who takes one look at the machine and quietly decides against it, rides along at half the driver price and does the whole tour anyway. That is worth knowing before you volunteer a partner for something they have never tried.

A helmet comes with the ride and stays on throughout. There is no lower age limit for the passenger seat, but we do not recommend it for children under four, because a small child can find it hard to hold on safely on a moving machine — and if a younger child does come along, the passenger fare still applies to them. We also do not recommend the tour for pregnant guests or for anyone with back or neck problems, and the rough ground is the reason rather than a formality.

The rest of the list, without pretending we have reviewed it

Here is where an honest operator stops selling. These are the other categories of thing a Belek guest does, we run none of them, and so we publish no opening hours, no ticket prices and no travel times for any of them. Those details change, and a stale number is worse than no number at all. Your hotel desk holds the current version and it costs nothing to ask at reception.

Two of them sit close enough to ours that guests ask us to compare, so we did the comparisons properly rather than dodging them: rafting on the rivers inland against an off-road morning, and a jeep day — where you are driven — against driving yourself, which is the whole difference between the two.

  • The beach and the pine woods along the strip: the day that needs nothing booked and nothing carried
  • The ancient sites the region is known for, Aspendos among them — the same countryside our own course sits in
  • Water parks and the large family park complex over on the Kadriye side, arranged through your hotel
  • Boat trips along the wider Antalya coast, sold by the local agencies and hotel desks rather than by us
  • The weekly markets in the towns near the strip — ask reception which day the nearest one falls on
  • River rafting in the mountains inland, the usual answer when somebody wants water instead of dust
  • Jeep safari days, where somebody else drives and you look out of the window

What the price includes, and what it does not

The largest item hidden inside €30 is the transfer, and it is genuinely round trip and genuinely included, with no pickup surcharge anywhere on the list: Belek and Kadriye, Boğazkent, Lara, Kundu, Antalya, Muratpaşa and Konyaaltı, and eastwards along the coast Side, Manavgat, Evrenseki, Kumköy, Çolaklı, Gündoğdu and Kızılot. Fifteen areas in total. If your hotel is somewhere else, ask us first rather than assuming it either way.

Nothing is charged online and there is no surprise at the end: the total we confirm is the total you pay in euros on the day, at the base. Wear old clothes and closed shoes rather than sandals, and bring a change of clothes, sunscreen and your own sunglasses.

  • Round-trip hotel transfer from the fifteen areas above, with no surcharge
  • An instructor and the safety briefing before anyone rides
  • The machine itself and its fuel
  • A helmet
  • Insurance for the activity
  • Goggles are not included; they are sold at the base if you want a pair
  • A dust mask is not included, and neither is a bandana — bring your own face covering if you would like one
  • Photo and video services, drinks and snacks at the rest stop, and any tips you decide to leave
  • A supplement if you want a quad to yourself rather than sharing it; we do not publish the amount, so ask us for the current one

Booking it around a tee time

Booking on this site creates a real reservation and costs nothing to hold. No card details are taken, no deposit is charged, and you pay in euros on the day of the tour. It is not an instant confirmation, though, and we would rather say so: your booking reaches us as pending, and a person then confirms the pickup arrangement with you, because a real time is worth more to you than an automatic one.

The earliest date bookable online is tomorrow. If you want to ride today — a round rained off, an afternoon that appeared out of nowhere — send a WhatsApp to +90 536 603 75 84 and we will tell you honestly whether there is a seat. Cancellation is free up to 24 hours before departure, which matters more on a golf holiday than on most: plans here move with the weather and with the tee sheet.

One last piece of honesty, since this page exists for people comparing options. We publish no star rating, no review count and no award, because we have none of those things and will not invent them. What we do publish is every number you could check us against: four prices, the half-price passenger rule, the two riding lengths, the length of the programme, the fifteen transfer areas, the driving rule with its reason, and the list of what is and is not included.

Questions

Frequently asked

What is there to do in Belek if you don't play golf?
Three categories, honestly. The strip itself — beach, pine woods, hotel pools and evening walks. The region inland — ancient sites including Aspendos, the mountains, boat trips along the wider coast and the weekly markets. And one active half day you drive yourself, which is the part we run: a quad safari from €30 per driver or a buggy from €35, with round-trip hotel transfer included and about four to four and a half hours door to door.
What can my partner do while I play a round?
Our morning session is built for exactly that gap. Pickup from Belek hotels averages around 09:20, the whole programme takes about four to four and a half hours door to door, and the transfer both ways is included in the price, so no car is needed. A quad is €30 per driver, a buggy €35, and if two of you go together the second person pays half — €15 on the short quad tour. There is also an afternoon session at an average of about 14:20 from Belek if the morning is spoken for.
Is there a half-day activity in Belek that includes the transport?
Ours does, and it is not an extra: round-trip hotel pickup and drop-off is inside the price with no surcharge, from Belek, Kadriye, Boğazkent, Lara, Kundu, Antalya, Muratpaşa and Konyaaltı, and east along the coast from Side, Manavgat, Evrenseki, Kumköy, Çolaklı, Gündoğdu and Kızılot. Fifteen areas. Your own pickup time is confirmed after booking, since it depends on the day's route.
How much is it for two people sharing one machine?
The driver pays the full price and the passenger pays exactly half. On the short quad tour that is €30 plus €15, so €45 together; on the long quad tour €38 plus €19, so €57. A short buggy tour is €35 plus €17.50, and the long one €43 plus €21.50. Transfer both ways is included in every one of those figures, and one machine carries one driver and one passenger.
Can a complete beginner drive a quad or a buggy?
Usually, yes. No driving licence is needed, because the route is a private off-road course rather than a public road, and drivers must be 16 or over. Every driver then does a compulsory supervised test ride at the base, and passing it is what allows you to drive. If it does not go well, or you simply change your mind, you ride along at half the driver price and still do the whole tour.
Is there anything for a family in Belek besides golf and the pool?
The safari takes families, but count the heads before you book, because everyone pays. Drivers must be 16 or over, so sixteen and seventeen year olds take their own machine at the full price, and everybody else comes as a passenger at half the driver price, at any age. Nobody rides free — not the smallest child, and not a grandparent who only wants to watch, because they still take a seat on the transfer. We do not recommend it for children under four, since a small child can find it hard to hold on safely.
Do I have to pay in advance to hold a date?
No. The reservation is free, no card details are taken online and no deposit is charged; you pay in euros on the day at the base. Your booking arrives with us as pending and a person confirms the pickup with you afterwards, so it is a real reservation rather than an automatic instant confirmation. The earliest date bookable online is tomorrow, and for today you can send us a WhatsApp instead. Cancellation is free up to 24 hours before departure.
Can I read reviews before I book this?
Not on this site, because we have none: no star rating, no review count and no award, and we would rather say that than publish something invented. Judge us on the checkable things instead — the four prices, the half-price passenger rule, the riding times, the included transfer from fifteen areas, the age and driving rules with their reasons, and the free cancellation up to 24 hours before departure.
